Logical Data Recovery II
Around 80 percent of our customer drives only need logical data recovery
Logical damage is primarily caused by power outages or lighting that prevent file system structures from being completely written to the storage medium, but problems with hardware (especially RAID controllers) and drivers, as well as system crashes, can have the same effect. The result is that the file system is left in an inconsistent state. This can cause a variety of problems, such as strange behavior (e.g., infinitely recursing directories, drives reporting negative amounts of free space), system crashes, or an actual loss of data. Various programs exist to correct these inconsistencies, and most operating systems come with at least a rudimentary repair tool for their native file systems.
This stage of recovery is for hard drives that fail to be recognized by any operating systems and/or by BIOS. In order to recover data, our engineers must reprogram your drive, fix the corrupted data, repair the bad sectors, or rebuild RAID so that they can extract your data. This kind of processes take a lot of time, days or even weeks. But this level does not need to use the clean room and open the hard drives to fix or replace any parts.
We recommend to stop using a hard drive if it is making strange noises. Give us a call at (305) 228-6163, so we can arrange to have your data recovered by one of our engineers.
